Land pictures

Here are some pictures of the land. We just ordered a perc test. The first picture is a straight shot of the property, and the following pictures follow a panoramic view, first right, then left. You can see Farmer Smith's equipment and buildings on the left. The shrubs are approximately where our property line is.

How it all started

In June of 2009, my wife and I flew to Seattle, Washington to attend a weekend seminar given by the Log Home Builders Association. Over the next 48 hours we learned everything we needed to know in order to build a log home by ourselves. During the last eight months we have been looking for land. We found a 5.68 acre plot in Shelbyville, Kentucky this week. We're in the process of buying it and should start putting in a foundation in a few months.
